“In Coppet or How Not to Marry a Prince, when celebrated 18th century writer and intellectual, Germaine de Staël, arranges for a wealthy German prince to meet her close friend and renowned beauty, Juliette Récamier, the prince proposes marriage. Juliette accepts but abruptly breaks off the engagement. Meanwhile, Germaine takes a young lieutenant as her lover after first spurning his attentions.
