Eleven-year-old Wavy is on the cusp of womanhood in a family of stand-up entertainers. When her grandmother has a stroke, Wavy’s mission is to save her from Des Peres (Despair), a home for unwanted old folks.
Wavy is helped and hindered by her mother Del, by Chloe who is Granny Wave’s home care worker, and by Estelle, an old lover of Granny Wave’s.
Curved is a play about having a being a woman in this world and finding our way through sex, dying, and freedom.
