Fanny – 40 years old: Fanny is a successful motivational speaker, author, single mom and recovering alcoholic living in the east. She is on the west coast visiting her family for the first time in 15 years.

Dolly – 60 years old: The matriarch of the family. Don’t let the word “grandma” fool you. This is no sweet old woman. She is mean, funny, abrasive, selfish, sexy, and outrageous.

Denny – 39 years old: Fanny’s sister. Single, no kids, eccentric, middle class, successful. She is attached to her old Jack Russell Terrier. She is an object of ridicule in the family because of this attachment.

Mike – 37 years old: Fanny’s baby brother. Fire Captain. Big party-goer and drinker. Well-loved by his mom and the guys at work. He has a short fuse with his family.

Chuck – 37 years old: Mike’s best friend. A cop, an alcoholic and a “ladies man”. He is having an affair with Dolly.

Danno – 17 years old: Fanny’s son. He’s run away from his home in the east to find his extended family in the west and get away from his controlling mom.
