Synopsis:

A young girl attempts to bring her fractured family together on a snowy winter
night that is full of mystery and magic.

Mary O’Brien: 20, can also play Cheryl or Estelle

Young Ebenezer: 20

Judy Krank: mid 20s/then thirties

Bill Toussaint: mid 20s/then thirties, he is second generation Haitian Canadian

Scout: Dog.

4 th Line Theatre first produced The Other in December 2018 as a travelling play throughout the streets and paths of Millbrook, Ontario, beginning and ending at the St. Thomas Anglican Church. Directed by Kim Blackwell.

Notes:

Music plays a big part of the play. In the original production, a fiddler followed the cast as they travelled through the town, and a choir sang carols at the end of the play.
