Lulu

Synopsis:

Traversing present day and fantasy, Lulu takes us on a grand adventure into the mystical folk realm in search of the Birth Tree Fruit to save her ailing grandmother.

Characters:

Lulu: A 10 year old girl of Jamaican-descent.
Anansi: An ageless trickster and shape-shifter who can change from human to spider.
Grandma Clarice: Grandmother of Lulu. Jamaican-born and keeper of old traditions.
Nadia: Mother of Lulu.
Doctor Bird: An elegant fella.
La Diablesse: A sangoma-like woman with a cow hoof and one human foot.
Choorile: A mischievous jumbie.
Mrs. Brown: Teacher of Lulu.
Josh: A friend of Lulu.
Zeinab: A friend of Lulu.
Hospital Doctor: A doctor at the hospital.
Fruit Vendor: An old crone resembling a soucouyant.
Figures: A mischievous group of ghost children
Jumbie: A lone duppy
Beatrice: Transportation donkey
